Designing the Front Cover

I decided to start the front cover first, because I figured that the front cover would set the rest colour tones and style for the rest of the pages that I was to make. Unlike my contents page and double page spread, I created my front cover on Photoshop.

The following are all print screens showing my progress and changes in design ideas and appearance along the way:

The final print screen is what I ended up with. I found it extremely hard to put the writing over my picture, because I had both light and dark in the background image, so I thought I could not just stick to one light or dark colour. However, it turns out that I can, as I found a tool which gives glow or drop shadowing etc, to the letters. This allowed me to make my words stand out.
